customer description

Oculus optical devices develop first-class ophthalmic instruments that are used to diagnose eye conditions and vision problems. The product range ranges from classic optical glasses to highly complex devices that can, for example, examine the cornea or the inside of the eye for symptoms.

Oculus also offers supportive optical aids for corneal surgeons, for example. Over the past three years, Oculus has achieved impressive growth, both in terms of revenue and headcount, with double-digit percentage growth rates.

Without Tacto

As the company experienced rapid growth, supplier management requirements became increasingly complex. Supplier information was scattered across different drives, systems, and Excel files—with no centralized database. Structured evaluation was only possible with significant effort.

While the procurement and operations teams could assess suppliers qualitatively, they couldn't objectively compare them or conduct strategic analysis. This made both negotiations and continuous development of the supplier portfolio challenging.

With Tacto

With Tacto, we created a centralized platform where all relevant supplier data comes together in a structured way. Evaluation happens automatically based on defined criteria – transparent, comparable, and accessible in real time.

Proven Impact

Over $250,000 in process cost savings through procurement automation.

Centralized access to all supplier performance and classification information.

Objective comparability as the foundation for strategic procurement decisions.

"What I've always experienced in the past: There's no central tool for your supplier information where you can actually access and analyze it. The information is always stored somewhere on a drive. But you can't filter, compare, or analyze it – and that's exactly the problem Tacto solves."

Outlook with Tacto

Oculus plans to further expand its supplier evaluation system—for example, by integrating additional KPIs, ESG criteria, or cross-location assessments. Tacto serves as the central foundation for managing supply chain growth and quality efficiently and data-driven.
