This includes the areas of special design and a comprehensive range of services. With over 900 employees, the company is active worldwide and has an export share of around 85%.

VEMAG wanted to transform procurement from an operationally-focused function into a modern, AI-powered control center. One of the key requirements was optimizing critical procurement metrics through intelligent analytics and automating recurring processes using AI agents to reduce administrative burden and systematically capture savings opportunities.

The first step focuses on systematic analysis of B and C parts, which often act as hidden cost drivers. AI-powered evaluations make pricing structures more transparent, identify discrepancies early, and generate clear recommendations for new volume contracts or adjusted order quantities.

Additionally, supplier communication is being centralized and supported through automated workflows. Complex coordination and approval processes that were previously time-consuming and error-prone are now simplified and accelerated through intelligent agents. As part of the transformation with Tacto, the goal was set to comprehensively automate procurement processes, consistently leverage AI-powered analytics to identify and realize savings opportunities, and base decisions on a unified, reliable data foundation. This approach enables procurement to proactively deliver savings over the long term and measurably increase its value contribution.

With its "Procurement 2027" strategy, VEMAG is transforming procurement into a modern, AI-powered organization. Routine operational tasks are increasingly handled by intelligent agents, allowing the procurement team to focus on strategic decisions and value creation.

At the core of this transformation is Tacto's Procurement Intelligence Execution System, which automatically consolidates purchase order, pricing, and invoice data and analyzes it using machine learning algorithms. This creates an end-to-end intelligent data flow that systematically identifies savings opportunities and provides transparency into the impact of individual cost levers.

The solution's centerpiece is integrated Spend Intelligence, which serves as an early warning system for procurement: It identifies pricing outliers, analyzes deviations in price and volume trends, and delivers actionable recommendations to buyers to achieve optimal negotiation outcomes.

Through this AI-driven transparency, VEMAG has already realized over €430,000 in savings—particularly in areas with high transaction volumes and numerous B- and C-parts that previously received little attention. AI agents now support the team in optimizing volume and contract structures, identifying negotiation leverage, and implementing measurable savings.
